The Last Minute Princeton Walk

For the last few workdays some of us have been discussing visiting the home where Einstein once lived. Today we discussed going to visit the home on Wednesday, however, we looked at the forecast, saw we were supposed to get thunderstorms, and made a last minute decision to go today.

First we stopped by a Washington memorial (supposedly the battlefield is nearby, but I haven't ventured there yet... maybe that will be next week's random adventure?).

This was a neat water statue near the memorial.

Then we took some pictures with the guy who was reading a newspaper and sitting on a bench.

This is the newspaper the guy is reading.

This is the newspaper on the bench next to the guy.

Then we saw the bust of Einstein and felt we had to take pictures with him (since he was the reason for this trek).

This is written in the stone "square" on the ground under which the bust rests.

Then we walked a couple blocks into Princeton and saw the original ETS building - it is now a clothing store but there is a plaque in the building.

Margarita, Ting, Katherine, and Nele

Then we walked a few blocks, stopped to take some pictures at a HUGE bench....

... walked a little further (through a construction area), past a beautiful church....

... and finally found the previous Einstein residence.

While taking pictures, a guy who was running stopped running and asked us "Is this really where Einstein used to live?" The girls said that we're pretty sure that it is and since that's the only house with a "Private Residence" sign on it, we felt even more confident that this was the house - hopefully we were right! :)

After visiting the residence, we took a different route to the car and passed the other side of the pretty church....

... and we passed the Governor's residence. There's a sign that says you can visit it from Wednesday to Sunday, so perhaps we'll go back one day?

These lions guarded the path from the Washington memorial to the Governor's residence.

It was definitely a fun random trip in Princeton!

Smile: Yay for friends who will go on random adventures with you!

Frown: Sadly, a couple of the girls completed the whole walk in heels and I felt bad for them! I guess that's the downside to an impromptu trip.
