The Day of Cacey's Showers

This past Saturday, some college girlfriends' and I hosted a couple showers for Cacey (who is getting married on April 18! Yay!). The Bridal Shower was at Alice's parents' house (we have had a LOT of get togethers here!) and we had a delicious lunch and some yummy dessert - all of which was made by Alice.

Cacey's future mother-in-law, Cacey, Kristel, Jen, and Julia

Cacey's future sis-in-law, Cacey's sister Diana, Hannah, Cacey's mom, Cacey's sister Cindy

The delicious lemon trifle and below is the yummy chocolate mousse!

(I just realized these next few pictures are us in our "roommate pairs")...

Alice and I (we lived together for a few years!)

Kristel and Jen
(each had HORRIBLE initial roommates and then they lived together for a few years)

Hannah and Cacey (lived together throughout college)

Julia and Holly (lived together for a year - then Holly got married)

Cacey's mom got a new video camera that she was using throughout the day

Holly is pregnant (Ethan is due April 1) and Julia LOVES touching pregnant bellies
(and continuously saying "there's a human in there!")

Cacey and her family and future family

At one point Cacey said she felt like we were the papparazzi taking pictures of her ... we told her she needs to get ready because the wedding might be worse!

Hannah helped Alice clean up after the lunch

After the guests left, we finished helping Alice clean, and then we did some last minute shopping for the bachelorette party (hey! we were all busy over the holidays!). After shopping, we returned to Alice's house and we got some gift bags and got ready for the party.

Hannah took a brown bag and decorated it.

The theme of the evening was "Tiffany's" (like little blue box Tiffany's). We went to The Domain (a new area in north Austin) - first we went to Cru Bar (perfect for us UMHB Crusader alumnae) and then we went to The Daily Grill for dinner.

Jen made this veil for Cacey and made her wear it for most of the night.

Jen put "diamonds" in the glasses that people were drinking out of.

At some point Hannah decided to try to make the diamonds into earrings.

Hannah wanted to take the diamonds to the next location, but they had been in her drink, so she decided to rinse them off in her water. The trend caught on with the rest of the table (this is Cacey's glass).

After drinks at the Cru Bar, we walked to dinner (just a short walk). Jen made Cacey wear her veil and carry the flowers - good practice for the wedding day! It was definitely a sight to see!

Along the way, Cacey's sister-in-law took some pictures on her cell phone to send to Cacey's future husband.

The table at dinner was decorated very very nicely (by Jen). There were diamonds on the table, the cake looked like a beautiful Tiffany's box, and there were little boxes in each seat (a diamond ring was in each box).

Doesn't that ring look wonderful on Julia?!!

Alice decided to try to turn the rings into earrings. Beautiful!

While opening gifts, Kristel wrote down what was being said by Cacey (LOVE this "game")!!!

The food was soooooo yummy!!!

We were only given little plates, and we didn't want to waste space on our plate with our shrimptails, so Hannah started putting them in an empty gift box.

Cacey is admiring the imagine that Hannah drew on the gift bag
(it is not PG rated so I did not include a picture on here).

Cacey's mom really thought the drawing was funny!!

I took notes on my cell phone (yay for an iphone!!!) while Julia took pictures for me.

Some of the chairs were decorated with a little white bow and Cacey's chair had a pretty blue bow.

I had sooo much fun catching up with these girls and getting to meet Cacey's family and future family!!! It had been awhile since the eight of us (Hannah, Cacey, Jen, Kristel, Julia, Holly, Alice, and I) college girls had met up so it was nice being all together again!!

Smile: I'm LOVING being in Texas getting to spend time with Bobby and with family and with friends!
