Interesting Subway Ride

Today Bobby and I ventured out to Brooklyn to go to a Princeton Review course for the GRE - that it turns out didn't really exist (the course, not the Princeton Review). We then travelled to NYU to take pictures with Flat Stanley (we wanted to go somewhere that had "New York" spelled out so it would be evident where Flat Stanley was). On our way from NYU back home is when the subway ride got interesting. Our subway car wasn't too crowded, so it was really quiet. Then this guy sitting across the aisle from us said "Hey, you look like that guy from the Brady Bunch. You know, the redhead!" We were like, ummm, redhead on the Brady Bunch?! "You mean on the Partridge Family?" To which the guy said "Yea! You should go on the streets and make money pretending to be Danny Bonaduce! The best places are between 34th and 42nd." Conveniently enough, we had just left the 34th station and we're approaching the 42nd street station - our stop to transfer trains. So we laugh with the guy (he talked more about how Bobby could make money, and how great ideas begin on the subway) and then we approached the door to get off at 42nd and the guy thought it was great that we were getting off there anyway! The best part - the guy couldn't believe no one had ever told Bobby that before and promised that he would start hearing it a lot more often if we walked around Times Square! New Yorkers never cease to amaze me!!

Smile: For some reason, while we were out and about today, it hit us how much we miss being home in Texas. But yay, we're going home in a few months for an extended Christmas visit ... okay, like a six month visit!! :)

Frown: Any one want to write my statement of purpose for my PhD applications?!
